The transformative power of wrestling is undeniable.

Our founder, Bryan Hawkins, spent six years in the Junior Knights and Francis Howell North High School program, attributing much of his personal growth and life turnaround to the lessons learned in the Francis Howell North wrestling room.

We are excited to announce that Do Something Cool Foundation has made a significant grant to the Francis Howell North wrestling organization. The funds will support the build-out of the new Knights team wrestling room, as the original facility was torn down this year.

The organization, through a positive environment of caring role models, coaches, and mentors, has helped thousands of youth develop personal qualities such as courage, humility, perseverance, and confidence. These attributes extend into every aspect of life, proving that the world's oldest and greatest sport has a significant impact. The coaching staff's dedication to inspiring, empowering, and transforming young lives through wrestling is commendable.

We have some real battles in the room right now. There are some good battles for some spots. We certainly have a lot more depth this year.” Senior Zach Mitchum (140, 145), junior Bryan Hawkins (152) and junior Cody Basala (152, 160) are other experienced and proven varsity wrestlers. Hawkins was just one match away from getting to state last year. (Hawkins) showed his  toughness this year, He needed to beat that kid for district seeds.

I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of outstanding young men over the years. The kids who stuck around always worked hard and tried to give it everything they had….seeing those guys work hard to improve and to learn the sport, it’s something I’ve really enjoyed and I know it’s something I’m going to miss.”

We are grateful to partner with Francis Howell North to ensure that the coaches can continue their invaluable work in shaping young lives through wrestling.
