KEEP ON, KEEPING ON: THE MANIMAL MURAL PROJECT
Do Something Cool has partnered with Autobahn Carwash for “Keep On, Keeping On,” a project fueled by resilience and the relentless pursuit of goals. This initiative highlights the journeys of individuals overcoming adversity through grit, the ability to persevere, stick with things, and maintain effort and interest over years despite failure, adversity, and plateaus in progress.
GRIT: THE BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO JOURNEYS
This collaboration is deeply rooted in the concept of grit—the unwavering determination to overcome challenges and pursue long-term goals. This resonates with both Nick "The Manimal" Custer and Dustin, the owner of Autobahn Carwash.
In 2013, Nick's life took a dramatic turn when he was involved in a severe car accident. He was ejected from his truck after losing control on an icy patch of Highway 94. The impact was devastating, and doctors gave him just three hours to live. But Nick, true to his "Manimal" nickname, defied the odds. He fought his way back from a five-week coma and the grim prediction that he would never walk again. Years later, Nick is not only walking but thriving as a homeowner and devoted dog dad. His story is a testament to the power of grit and the human spirit.
Dustin, too, has demonstrated remarkable grit in building his business and overcoming obstacles. The car wash industry presents unique challenges, from labor shortages to the ever-present pressures of running a business solo. Dustin's perseverance and dedication to his craft mirror Nick's unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. Their shared experiences and commitment to "keeping on" have formed a powerful bond, fueling this inspiring collaboration.
